World Holy Name Week Celebrations in Sri Mayapur dhama

We have completed our "World Holy name Week". Everyday our

devotees, headed by Venu Vijay das and Asutosh Das, went to different parts of

Allahabad city and performed Harinam Sankirtan. About 50 devotees including

congregational devotees used to go to a contact person's house and Harinam

would start from there. They would arrange for our snacks also We would put

two big sound boxes facing opposite directions on top of a Maruti van for

sound system.…

World Holy Name Week 2012 @ ISKCON Pune

We are able to celebrate the World Hoy Name Week in a grand way. From the first day of Harinam it started raining here, but by the mercy of Lord Gauranga it could not disturb Harinam. It would rain before the Harinam or after the Harinam but never rained in between. Many congregation devotees and children also participated in their respective areas. For world Holy Name week devotees had some six hour kirtans at the temple here and a large nagar sankirtan with all the devotees. At the nagar sankirtan we invited several other vaisnava groups. There was four mrdungas and about  two dozen kartals  gongs  wompers and trumpet. The sankirtan went through several villages and came to a big program held at a devotee's big house. There was a speech about the glories of chanting KRSNA's Names on very loud speakers and then a large feast…

This is the third year in a row ISKCON Noida celebrated the World Holy Name week and this was the first year when Noida devotees took this week so seriously by holding Hari naam every day at different places, Japa in park, Japa in Sunday festival, all the classes, Bhagavatams etc. were on the glories of the Holy name, all the Bhakti Vriksha programs discussed and chanted the Holy name, 24 hrs. kirtan at temple.  Devotees took extra vows to chant extra rounds of Hare Krishna maha mantra in…

Devotees at ISKCON Punjabi Bagh participated in ‘World Holy Name Week’ (WHNW) with full enthusiasm and vigor. With the full co-operation of all the different groups of devotees, including Temple Residents and Congregational members, it was a huge success. One way of identifying its success was that there was more participation than expected and another is that devotees are asking for more such events related to “Holy Name”.

WORLD HOLY NAMES WEEK (10TH TO 20TH SEPTEMBER 2011)

THE WORLD HOLY NAMES WEEK was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the devotees of ISKCON, Chandigarh. A number of programs were organized by the devotees to commemorate the week. Ekalavya Das and Gopinatha Das of Bhaktivedanta Band are in the Perisan Gulf, country codenamed Balaramdesh.

Despite the civil unrest, and police helicopters flying overhead, we are daily conducting Harinam Programs here with the ISKCON congregation.

So far, highlights have been a four hour kirtan led by Ekalavya Das, and also a 2 and 1/2 hour festival to honor Srila Namacarya Haridas Thakur.
